A Post Lesson Chat
“Please hold on one minute. I just want to ask your teacher what you did today in the lesson.”
“No, I don’t want you to go to the car and wait for me. I would prefer you to hear what is said.”
“Thank you for seeing me. Rosie’s teacher at school said that she is still struggling with her mathematics. How has Rosie been doing in the lessons?”
“Yes, I do look at her books after every lesson. Rosie is proud of the work she does. She always talks about how well she is coping with the verbal and non verbal reasoning exercises. She never talks much about her mathematics.”
“Oh, thank you. I can see this is revision. Rosie found that difficult last year. An `excellent’ – well done Rosie.”
“So this is the new work from the eleven plus syllabus. I can see that she has never done anything like that at school.”
“Well done Rosie.”
“So what can I do to help? Are there any books I can get? What can I do at home?”
“Thank you so much. Rosie does enjoy the lessons.”
“Say goodbye Rosie.”
“There I told you that you have to spend some time reading. Put your seatbelt on. We will pay another visit to the library to see if we can find any of those books.”
